Kimsooja, real name Kim Soo-ja, is a South Korean and American media artist living and working in New York and Seoul.
After studying art in Seoul, Kimsooja studied lithography at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, then apprenticed at the New York Museum of Modern Art.
Her early works used fabric, which quickly became her favorite medium: the artist began creating large textile collages. In her work, Kimsooja combines performance, film, photography and installation with the use of textiles, light and sound. The artist explores issues relating to the human condition, as well as addressing issues of aesthetics, culture, politics and the environment.


Jörg Immendorff was a German painter and sculptor, stage designer and decorator, and a member of the New Wild movement.
Immendorff painted in cycles that often lasted for years and were political in nature. His series of sixteen large paintings, Café Deutschland (1977-1984), is well known. In these colorful paintings, numerous disco lovers symbolize the conflict between East and West Germany.
Immendorff prepared several stage productions and designed sets for the operas Elektra and The Rider's Voyage. 25 of Immendorf's paintings were selected in 2006 for the illustrated Bible.

Wolfgang Tillmans is a German photographer. His diverse body of work is distinguished by observation of his surroundings and an ongoing investigation of the photographic medium’s foundations.
Tillmans was the first photographer – and also the first non-British person – to be awarded the Tate annual Turner Prize. He has also been awarded the Hasselblad Award, the Royal Photographic Society's Centenary Medal, the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition's Charles Wollaston Award, The Culture Prize of the German Society for Photography, and is an Academician of the Royal Academy of Arts, London.


Sarah Schumann was a German painter. She concentrated on painting and in 1953 had her first solo exhibition at Zimmergalerie Franck in Frankfurt am Main. She joined the women's group "Bread and Roses". During that time she worked on three films by director Helke Sander. In 1977 she was one of the initiators of the exhibition Female Artists International 1877-1977 in Frankfurt am Main and painted large portraits of women.
